Mountain Famer`s Museum & Handicraft Marked

A popular attraction is the "Wildschönauer Bergbauernmuseum z"Bach"

Here you can dive in olt times and see how was live in Wildschönau at this difficult age.

In summer best day to visit is thursday. Than you may find the weekly handicraft market.

You may watch the ancient arts of cobbling, basket weaving, gold embroidery and woodturning and much more in the old barn at the Z'Bach Mountain Farmer's Museum. Your own 'little helpers' can try their hand at making felt, making corn dollies, pinning and baking bread.

The Marked is from last week in may to first week in october always from 13.00 - 17.00 o clock.

   

A must are the original Schmalznudeln from the old farmer woman Eaßbam Anna! This delicios meal is a regional special and she will produce them in the old smoke kitchen direct in front of you. 

The entree at the museum is with the Wildschönau Card free!
 
The museum is near the popular St Francis' Path where statues have been placed dedicated to St Francis of Assisi and his Canticles to Brother Sun, and so you can enjoy bouth attractions on one day.

 
Next to the museum is a old mill with big breaker. This mill is still running and every thursday the farmers woman get the flour there to make the crispo Wildschönauer Farmerbread which is made in a smal baking house

Alpine Mountains Advent
 
In last november week and first wekk in december at the museum the Wildschoenau People celebrate the popular  Mountainsadvent Wildschönau.
The Alpine Advent has an olde worlde, traditional Christmas charm which is has all but died out elsewhere. This Christmas market is long on Austrian tradition with home cooked delicacies, prepared in the wood heated oven or over an open fire, and short on commercialism.
The Alpine Advent takes place in the atmospheric Z'Bach Farming Museum, which is festively decorated for the occasion. Tyrolean culture can be experienced first hand with plays, nativity singers, christmas baking, an exhibition of handmade cribs, to name but a few of the attractions.
